June 27, 2016: Kidney Stone(s), Revisited

Here I thought that we were done with this thing last Friday – I had suffered my fate and peed out my rocks, and it was time to move on with the rest of my life.

Apparently the rest of my life was a mere two days because after waking up this morning with that same familiar ache that made me reluctantly reach for my bottle of Vicodin once more, all I could do was wince and cry out…

I’VE GOT WAY TOO MUCH STUFF TO DO TO BE HOBBLED BY KIDNEY STONES FOR WEEKS AT A TIME!!!

Of course, in reading more about kidney stones and how they’re formed, it seems that I’m getting to that point where all of these terrible things about my health are finally starting to catch up with me in quite unpleasant ways! Being overweight, having high blood pressure, eating a diet with too much salt in it (do you have any idea how much salt is in pretty much anything that you don’t go out and harvest yourself?!) … it’s all bad, and in this case apparently it all contributes to the creation of kidney stones.

For 85-90% of kidney stone pee-ers get them more than once in their lifetime … oh joy! 😛

And here much like I thought the first time last week was just back pain, I suppose it’s good that we did family fun day at the aquarium yesterday because while I woke up today originally musing that perhaps it was just the result of getting down on the floor to peer up through those bubbles with the kids … nope.

Bleh – so here we go again. How does anyone on Vicodin ever manage to get anything done all day?! 😯
