August 23, 2016: ‘Cause Nighttime is the Right Time for Sleep Time…

Don’t worry – it’ll all still be there for me to pick up tomorrow.

Day #2 of Pregnant Wife in the Hospital for Eternity was hectically busy, to say the least! Trying not to stress out about it too much at this juncture because I know that I’m still trying to get my bearings and figure out a plan of attack on how to survive this whole thing intact.

Apparently the wife talked more with her doctor and it’s pretty much confirmed that she’ll be there until the babies come out, so really the best case scenario is that she’s in the hospital for at least another month! 😯

So far Monday and Tuesday both had extra errands that had to be ran on top of visits to the hospital – multiple, in the case of Monday – so needless to say, I’m kind of looking forward to Wednesday being a bit more relaxing at least in the sense that I can do things more at my own pace instead of having to be certain places at certain times for certain things and whatnot.

Only two days into this mess, if there’s one group of individuals that I’ve already developed a newfound respect/pity for, it’s single parents … I literally couldn’t imagine doing this day in, day out in perpetuity until the kids are old enough to drive or go to college or whatever the hell it is that finally gets them out of your hair!

That said, I’m doing the best that I can and I think I’m being moderately productive so far, so who knows. Maybe the added stress will crowd out some of the miscellaneous procrastination that otherwise tends to stand in my way. Only time will tell in that regard.

And by the way, though that pile of toys in the living room pictured here most certainly didn’t get addressed yet, we managed to make progress in cleaning up the playroom … and by we I mean that I was able to put toys away at a faster rate than Christopher was able to pull them back out again, so as far as I’m concerned that’s a win in my book! 😉
