I keep waffling back and forth on whether I want to do the whole pumpkin thing anymore or not.
On one hand, it doesn’t take much for me to get burned out on pumpkin anymore, and traditionally when I review pumpkin stuffs I tend to encounter more crappy pumpkin than I do quality.
On the other hand, though … the pumpkin itch is a hard one not to scratch, especially when there’s all sorts of new things on the shelf this year like Pumpkin Spice Cheerios and Pumpkin Spice Nutri-Grain Bars and even Pumpkin Spice Twinkies! 😉
Admittedly the current site is a bit dated at this point, considering that I first built the thing back in 2008 as a strange sort of stress relief from our wedding … which is kind of funny because there’s definitely been a moment or two recently when I’ve found myself wondering if maybe seeking a little stress relief from having twins might be enough of a reason to dabble in a new site design that could become the next generation of Lovin’ Me Some Pumpkin!
Of course, truth be told if I do manage to find a few moments to work on writing stuff in this crazy whirlwind that is my life as of this moment … when I can hardly find time to write humor or blog or whatever … the last thing I should probably do is take on a new creative project right now – let alone one that would probably entail a whole lot of work because after having reviewed a kind of crazy 270 pumpkin products over the years, I think the next iteration needs to be less blog-like and more of a site to showcase that gigantic list of products, let visitors pick their favorites, and maybe even submit new stuff themselves that I haven’t been able to find myself.
There are definitely options … it’s just not something that I have the time to take on right now, and frankly it was always something I figured that maybe I’d do in the off season, so to speak, instead of during September – November which is pretty much the only time the entire thing is even relevant!
…but who knows – if I happen to find myself up at 3am, as I often do, and I happen to come across just the right WordPress theme to fit the vision – I suppose we’ll see…
For what it’s worth, I have ordered Olive Garden’s Pumpkin Cheesecake more than once in the times that I’ve grabbed to-go orders from them during my trips to the hospital lately … old habits do die hard. 🙂
